Hey everyone! It’s that time of year again – time for SuperShow! I hope that many of you are going, or are even there already. And, I’m going too! I’ll be working with our social media team to help tell the stories of the people and events there. In fact, as you read this blog, now, on Friday June 29th, 2018, I’m probably frantically packing my suitcase, confirming my flight time, and making sure that I actually bring shoes for this trip (I forgot them one time and my family has yet to let me live it down).
I can’t wait to see everyone there! I really think this is going to be a spectacular show, and I say that as someone who’s been working on (parts of) it for months. It’s been so exciting to see it come together with the amazing effort of everyone on the team here, and it’ll only get better once we get to Vegas! If you’re attending, I promise that you’ll learn a lot and have a ton of fun.
I’m looking forward to connecting with my peers in the larger martial arts community. And on that note, I have a favor to ask you guys.
This blog is a big part of my job at Century. I absolutely love it, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have an absolute blast getting to write about topics like weird martial arts, or review The Karate Kid movie. But the blog doesn’t exist for my enjoyment. Like the SuperShow, the blog exists for you: school owners and instructors, martial arts enthusiasts, black belts and beginners. I want it to be a fun, enlightening and interesting source of material for you. I want the blog to be yours as much as it is mine.
So, to that favor: If you run into me at the Show, drop some feedback on me! What do you like, or want to see more of? Is there a specific topic you’re interested in? I’m taking requests!
You’ve probably noticed that recently we’ve featured some posts from wonderful guest writers. If you’re interested in writing for the blog, ask about that too! I’m always looking for more guest bloggers, to feature their unique voices. The SuperShow is wonderful because it brings martial artists with such a wide diversity of styles, life experiences, and skill sets together – I’d like the blog to reflect that, too.
Of course, you don’t have to be going to the SuperShow to share your input on the blog. You can reach me any time at email@example.com, and the guest blogger application is only ever a click away. That said, I hope I get to meet any many of our readers there, in person, as possible!
Thank you guys again so much for being part of the martial arts community, and the Century blog community. You all rock!
