Well, we've almost reached the end of 2019! But in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to pause and reflect on the year. I asked around the office to see what people were grateful for. Here's what they said.
Drew Brower, who you know (or know of) if you've sent in art for customized products, says:
"I’m thankful for all the support and love that I receive from those who help me with my personal goals. To be surrounded by people who encourage me to push pass my limits and never be satisfied with what I can do. I can not thank these people enough for showing me that I can always improve upon myself and that I can keeping moving forward."
From Kaily Prince, one of our graphic designers (look for her work on the Updates; she's really great!):
"2019 has treated me well. I’m so thankful for my found family. When the family I was born into rejected me, my found family has stepped up and supported me all the way. I’m also thankful for the opportunities I’ve had this year. I quit one of the worst jobs I’ve ever had, moved out of an apartment that didn’t have hot water or AC, and moved in with people that make me feel safe, in a house that actually feels like home. Then there’s my cats, Calliope and Persephone, who have tolerated it all with grace. They always know how to cheer me up, whether it’s by falling in the bathtub, or running into the door."
I, too, am grateful for dumb cats.
Matt Grizzle, our Marketing Manager (who would probably try to do every job in the department if we gave him the chance) even made his into a poem!
"I am grateful for my house and my dog,
But I’m also grateful for my car and my job.
My friends, family and coworkers are second to none,
I don’t play the lottery because I feel I’ve already won.
But most of all, I’m grateful for second chances and the gift of life,
But just remember there is no need to worry and no need for strife,
NEVER, EVER give up, and always remember - cut once and measure twice."
Justin Haggard, who recently switched over to doing social media for Gameness, wrote: "I’m thankful for the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice so that we could be made right with God: 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.' John 3:16."
Chad Raunborg, who you've seen in the Century Challenge alongside me, Justin and Drew, added, "I’m thankful for Jesus, my family, and 80’s music."
And finally, from Alvin Myers, who is not a Century employee but might as well be, and is one of the most active members of our online community:
"Just wanted to let you know how thankful I am for everyone at Century. You always take the time to listen to me and supply Amazing Products; as well as Awesome Customer Service. Hoping you all have a Great Holiday Season! OSU!!!"
Bonus: We did a department Thanksgiving feast!
